Salesforce Package Update FAQ
Why are Salesforce package updates required?
Salesforce has an API version that receives 3 updates every year, and Sertifi package components (classes and pages) are tied to specific versions when they are created. Thus, it's a best practice to always use the most recent version of the Salesforce package.
Currently, to meet updated Salesforce security requirements and thus utilize our latest product enhancements, your Sertifi package needs to be on version 2024.7.22, or higher, by January 31, 2025.
When I try to download the package, I get an error. What do I do?
If this occurs, it's recommended to directly download the package from the AppExchange.
To do this:
Click on the blue pill-shaped icon at the top right of the Salesforce window.
Select AppExchange.
Type Sertifi into the AppExchange search bar.
Click on the name of the app (ex: Sertifi Electronic Signatures)
Click Get It Now
Click Log In under Log in with Trailhead.me
Click the Salesforce option under Log in using an existing account and log in using your Salesforce or Delphi.FDC login.
After logging in, click the blue Accept button at the bottom of the page.
After you click Accept, the system will bring you to the download page. Download for All Users. Once completed, the system will send you an email, indicating the download was successful.
I have already updated my package to 2024.7.22. Do I need to update to newer package versions like 2024.820?
The minimum required version is 2024.7.22. However, by updating to 2024.8.20, you will gain access to permission sets.
With a permission set, you'll be able to add all of your users at once to a single group that can access the functions of your Sertifi portal.
To create a permissions set:
Go to Setup > Manage Users > Permission Sets > New.
Enter a label.
Press the Tab key to auto fill the API Name.
Enter a description.
Select the Salesforce license.
Click on the Save button.
Click on System Permissions, then Edit.
Select Download AppExchange Packages, and note that all other permissions are automatically selected by default. Scroll down until you find Manage Billing and select it as well.
Click the Save button.
To assign the Permission Set to a Corporate Admin, click the Manage Assignments button.
Click on the Add Assignments button.
Select the necessary user(s), and then click Assign.
Click Done.
How can I be notified of package updates?
We will only post notifications and release notes for major releases. You can subscribe to our release notes emails to receive notifications for new releases.
In most cases, an upgrade will not be required.
